How To Contact Your Legislator

Despite technological advances, letters and personal meeting remain the most effective means of communicating with elected officals. There are circumstances, however, when it's better to send an email. For Example, if a committee is scheduled to take action on a piece of legislation tomorrow and your legislator is on that committee, then an e-mail or phone call may be the only way to get your message through in time. These links can help you find the legislator and all of their contact information.

CME Issues—Who’s Tracking Your Credits?

Physicians receive license renewal packets that direct them to call CE Broker for a subscription to handle their CE credits. However, local MECOP can also track your CME credits.

The Florida Board of Medicine accepts MECOP’s notarized CME report in response to any physician audit. Physicians are exempt from reporting exclusively through CE Broker. Physicians can self-report to CE Broker without a fee. However, you cannot access what CE Broker has in your file without a $35 fee. To contact the local MECOP office call (850) 477-4956.

From tobacco to adolescent health, from AIDS to Medicare, the American Medical Association (AMA) speaks out on issues important to patients and the nation's health. The House is comprised of physician delegates representing every state; nearly 100 national medical specialty societies; federal service agencies, including the Surgeon General of the United States; and six sections representing hospital and clinic staffs, resident physicians, medical students, young physicians, medical schools and international medical graduates.
